JUNIOR FIREFIGHTERS
GALVEZ-LAKE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Galvez-Lake Junior Firefighter Program is for teens, age 14-18. They meet on Monday nights for training which includes truck inventory on tools used on the fire scenes.
They also train on hose handling, fire scene overhaul and are used on fire scenes to retrieve tools and equipment used by firefighters on a fire scene.
The Juniors also attend demonstrations given to the firefighters and EMS personnel. This training prepares them for the time when they will be able to perform these duties when age permits.
Junior Firefighter Coordinators are Officers of Galvez-Lake Fire Department. These officers oversee the training and are present at all Junior firefighter functions.
